Another Season Begins Posted at 20:30 EST
As of this past Saturday, I am officially in training once again to ride the double century in September. We started out with a mere 23 mile ride. It was a good ride, but would have been better had we not been fighting the wind the entire way. (Almost got blown off my bike a few times...literally.) But it was a good workout nonetheless, if not better because of the wind. I am in better shape than I thought, but not in as good of shape as I had hoped. C'est la vie!

The Toughest Ride Yet Posted at 23:45 EST
Today I rode a metric century (62 miles) starting in the town of Hillsborough, NC. (The ride is called Bikefest.) Let me tell you, they don't call it HILLSborough for nothing! It was 62 miles of non-stop hills, and I don't mean the nice, easy, rolling kind. Some of them were downright brutal, including the last two within 5 miles of the finish. Even though I ended up slowing way down towards the end, I still managed to end up with a pretty fast average pace. And heck, I survived! (I can't believe I actually considered riding the full century - 100 miles. That would have been TOO torturous.)

I will be on my bike again tomorrow!
