Summer Sun Posted at 15:00 EST
Ah - 'tis summer. Now comes the heat, and the fires. It is still green in the hills thus far - but it will not be long until all is brown and ugly and DRY!

But it is also barbeque season - which I LOVE! Not that I am a great griller - but it helps keep the house cool and tastes great too.

Back to school and stuff Posted at 15:00 EST
It is so nice to have the kids back in school and my daughter goes to all-day kindergarten, it is just the youngest and me. You'd think I'd get more done around here!

Oh well, I will get back into it soon.

Snow Posted at 13:00 EST
Ah - feels like the holidays are coming. Until there is snow, I just don't "feel" the season. But we have some! So yippee!!!

However, now the arduous task of shopping is upon me. I am not much of a shopper - luckily hubby does most of it.

Hooray for snow!!!

Back Posted at 11:00 EST
It was a wonderful trip - good weather, awesome company and tasty food. The exhibit is amazing! Such detail in the carvings. I am still awe-struck by the whole thing.

One week to go!! Posted at 12:00 EST
Then I am off to Canada. We have a full itinerary and it'll be busy, but am sure we will have plenty of time to drink...coffee...and talk our heads off.

Fine! I admit it - we're really gonna drink vodka tonics. ;-P

Allergies Posted at 11:00 EST
Living in the western US means living with sagebrush. However pretty it may be and however one may like its scent, when it blooms it is EVIL!!
This year has been particularly bad. I just hope it clears up before I leave on my vacation.

Welcome Autumn! Posted at 15:00 EST
My favorite time of year.
Dreaming of baked cookies
and corn upon the ear.
The crisp cool air;
wind blows leaves here and there.
Soon the snow will fly
and bring to us great cheer!

Bad movie Posted at 12:00 EST
I have to get this off my chest, it is exasperating!
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is, in my humble opinion, the worst movie I have seen in some time! I paid money to see it too. Good money - for 5 people! Not everyone has the same tastes, but we discovered over dinner that all five of us wanted to leave but were afraid to ask the rest. I guess I can add this experience to my "what I will laugh about when I am 90" list.

To be as short (and kind) as possible: the plot was non-existant, the acting woody at best (except Law who was a bit pliable), and I just could not care for or about any of the characters.
One of those "What the Hell was that?" moments.

Another Friday. Posted at 13:00 EST
Today is my hubby's birthday and he is out of town. Been gone all week, not sure if he can come home tonight or if'll have to be tomorrow morning.
We have a couple date tomorrow as well to celebrate his birthday - we don't get much time alone so it will be sad if he can't make it.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Won't be long before it gets too cold to picnic and play outside, so my suggestion is to plan something outdoors this weekend; a hike, picnicking in the park, a stroll downtown.
Keep smiling!

Trip to Canada Posted at 19:00 EST
Going to Canada in October to see the Egyptian exhibit at the British Museum. Going to be spendy - but fun! Meeting with a friend so there will be carousing as well.
I've not been to a large exhibit like this before. Will be fascinating I am sure.
