Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't. ~Margaret Thatcher

*sigh* Posted at 22:00 EST
I understand that the image galleries are supposedly offline according to the following message:

"Ancient worlds will image galleries are currently offline for testing. We apologize for any inconvenience."

(Someone really needs to check their grammar here, but that is beside the point. *G*)

HOWEVER, why is this precluding me from getting to my homesite message board?

Had a good laugh over this one... Posted at 21:00 EST
An acquaintance of mine posted this at another site of which I am a member. Thought I would share:

Red Alert?

The British are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

Also, the French government announced yesterday that it has raised its alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Surrender" and "Collaborate." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.

It's not only the English and French that are on a heightened level of alert. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."

The Germans also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbor" and "Lose."

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.

Writing Posted at 20:00 EST
It occurred to me last week that I really need to begin seriously writing again. So, I pulled out a novel I began awhile back. I have not touched it in five years! Yeesh. Naturally, when I started reading parts of it, I realized how awful it is as it stands. *L* Needless to say, I decided to revamp the entire thing. The premise and time period will remain the same, but things will develop a little differently. Maybe I'll even manage to finish it. Ha! Time will tell...

Jumping Back in with Both Feet Posted at 20:30 EST
I finally have decided it is high time I get back into ballroom dancing. I have found a studio that I think will be a good home for me. A close friend of mine has been dancing there for a while now and really enjoys it. She has been doing well there and says everyone is very professional and loves what they do. She took me to a performance and I was highly impressed. Today I made the call and my first foray back into the dance world will be this Wednesday. I think I really need this to lift my spirits and get back into shape. I am looking forward to performing and competing again in the (hopefully) near future.

Computer Upgrades Posted at 15:00 EST
On an entirely different note, I'm excited to have been able to upgrade my computer this year by adding another gig of RAM and a 400 gig external hard drive (which I got a great deal on). I am now ready to take on one of the more powerful 3D applications (which will round out my Christmas presents this year) to expand my artwork. Now I just have to wait for the program to be release in its finalized version sometime in January.
