On new groups and old

Egypt now has a very active new group, The Scribe's Palette, which has become very popular in a very short time. It offers an opportunity for those interested to develop skills in RP and related writing. Lotus Horemheb, the group's leader, has put into place a sound structure to maintain member interest and encourage growth.

Another new group as yet unnamed is mooted for Egypt - this will focus on Egypt's art and architecture, topic areas long overlooked. All those interested are invited to put forward ideas to assist in its shaping. It will be an academic group where discussion on all aspects of the topic/s will be conducted.

Eternal Gods, Eternal Lives is getting a facelift and should be commencing the long-awaited ('The Book of Netjeru'?) roleplay. For those interested, roles of certain gods are available and we welcome any and all newcomers whether as mere mortals or as ancient netjeru ;)

In KMT which now boasts 6321 posts, The Golden Horus continues to flourish as do other roleplays. Nebmaatre Thutmose and his new co-board leader, Mirjam Nebet, have taken a fresh approach with Ankh Tawy: Life in the Two Lands - it now focuses on tales with an Egyptian theme reflecting the inspirational work now ongoing in The Scribe's Palette. Neima Nebet's The Chasm ~ Mystic Realm of KMT continues to flourish under her guidance.

ACTA

ACTA C&G pages finally slide into the 'finished' pile - I'm so glad! It's a relief to see them ready for Max's more than capable hands. I notice from Victoria's journal that Vort has been working tirelessly on his today - it seems I wasn't the only one to be burning the midnight oil ;)

An enjoyable experience though I have to admit I'm glad this only happens once a month. The washing pile is teetering - I should get to it...once I check the Daily Messages...does this qualify as addiction, Victoria?

I hope this goes ahead - what a brilliant tool! This would mean that my notes on Hathor, which I'm just starting to compile as backup information for Eternal Gods Eternal Lives, would be able to be done in greater depth, categorised and made more accessible. Way to go, Jot!

Kudos to Jot on a wonderful new feature to our home pages! I think this promises to be very useful indeed for communication purposes and the storage of information - where appropriate, I'll be using these to the hilt!

Thoughts on an Asian city

More than timely! For workability, I'm inclined to agree with Jojo: perhaps a 'blanket' city is the practical solution? Then again...I wonder though if it's appropriate to bundle together such very distinct cultures? It would be like amalagating Rome, Egypt and Athens for example and calling them 'Western'? The mind boggles ;)

An actor portraying a role

Those considerations apart, names, default perspective images & backgrounds for homesites would be simple to come up with. Edo, for example, could be accommodated very easily given the large pool of visual and historical material available to draw on. I'm sure the same could be said for a representative city in both India and China.

Personally, I hope Edo goes ahead - think of the opportunities for RP and specialised history boards! I rather like the idea of donning the robes of a samurai...or those of a woman from the Floating World ;)
