I have joined the group Pax Inter Pares and amongst my characters will be a young Marcus Agrippa. At this point in the game, Marcus Agrippa should be about 15 to 16 years old. Since not much is known about Agrippa's young life, I will be making many assumptions based on historical fact.
Marcus Agrippa comes from a wealthy equestrian family, most likely, but not definitely from Arpinum, the home town of Gauis Marius and Marcus Tullius Cicero. His father is Lucius Vipsanius Agrippa and his mother was probably named Polla and her father's name was probably Marcus Pollio (really no pun intended). Agrippa's siblings are Lucius Vipsanius Agrippa, an older brother who is already an officer in the Roman army although at this point aligned with Pompey; and Vipsania Polla, probably a slightly younger sister. Agrippa was purportedly born breach, but since his father was also an Agrippa, I doubt the cognomen originated with Marcus Agrippa, so Agrippa's mother survived his birth to give birth to Vipsania and possibly a Quintus, Gaius, Sextus, and Publius. There is not much evidence that Agrippa had these four additional siblings, but I will keep them around until I can do further research in JSTOR.
I would imagine since Agrippa felt so comfortable on the water, that is father made his money in connection with shipping goods from far off places to Rome. I say this because Agrippa later became such an outstanding naval commander and after his death, Augustus placed less emphasis on the navy. At this point I am not sure why this was, but I will assume it was because naval command was not emphasized in the Roman army, but again, I need to do more research.
