Julia Betrest

They say that behind every great man exists a great woman. Behind the powerful mob leader of the MacRoth family exists Julia Betrest.

Julia grew up north of Chicago on a farm in the town called Pleasant Prairie. But to her, growing up in a broken home with an alcoholic father, life was anything but "pleasant". When she was sixteen, she ran away from home, heading towards the city, trying to find work and make it alone on the mean streets of Chicago.

She found work for a couple of months as a lounge singer in a small, rundown club called "Randy's" on the south side of the city. One night, when the MacRoth gang raided the club and successfully bumped off the owner for loans gone unpaid, the leader of the mob saw her singing on stage, and the rest, as they say, was history.

Julia went from having nothing to having everything, the nicest clothes, the ritziest jewels, a shiny new car, a beautiful new home, glamorous parties, and she didn't have to sing in the lounge for chump change again. Her only job now was to be on the arm of the MacRoth mob boss, and if she fulfilled that duty, she could have any material thing that her heart desires.

But being a moll isn't all glamor. It can be lonely too, and all the treasures in the world can't fill the hole of long hours alone at the penthouse without a friend in the world. While Julia appreciates what the MacRoth family gives to her, she often finds herself dreaming of what life would be like on the other side of the line...
