Biography of Daedalus Solon

I was born on the twentieth day of the month of Boedromion in the first year of the eighty-fifth Olympiad. My mother, Rita, supports the family as a goatherd in the port village of Piraeus in Attica. My father, Cleon, is a lay-a-bout who does nothing but spend all of his time at the symposia (or so my mother says). I have an older sister (Melita), a younger brother (Basil) and a younger sister (Lonia). My interests are herb gardening, Hermetic magic and worshipping Dionysus.

In the first year of the eighty-ninth Olympiad, my father arranged for me to travel to Egypt and study to become a magus. It is now the second year of the ninty-third Olympiad, and I have finished my studies and returned to Athens. On the return trip, the sailors got some bad wine, went mad, jumped from the ship and drowned. I made a vow to Dionysus that if he returned me safely, I would study to become his priest. I now support myself by selling magical spells and potions, at the various symposia, while I study to become a priest.
