Please forgive me if I have mistakenly transcribed any Gaelic spelling, my grasp of Gaelic grammar is only rudimentary! I think you\'ll get the general idea though..... Enjoy!

Everyone knows the beautiful design of hands, heart and crown. It is used traditionally in rings, but also in brooches, pendants and jewellry of all kinds. My own wedding ring is a Claddagh. Where does the design come from?

It happened that a race of people called the Milesians invaded Ireland at this time with the idea of taking the country for themselves. They fought a war with the People of Dana, and in two bloody battles, on the Plain of Moytura; the invaders defeated the People of Dana, and so put an end to the reign of the gods in Ireland for evermore.

Once there lived in Ireland a people who were gods and the children of gods. They were of radiant beauty and godlike bearing, and they loved above all things poetry, music and beauty of form in man and woman. These beautiful people were descended from the goddess Dana, and so were called the De Danaans, or the People of Dana.
