The No Theatre

The No Theatre is an original literary contribution. These plays are performed on a scene. The actors are masked, and they are dressed in beautiful costumes. A choir helps explaining the action in the play, and the actors and the choir recite their lines to the music of a little orchestra.

The Ronins

The Ronins were the masterless samurais of feudal Japan. The samurais were knights of feudal Japan, and they were retainers of the daimyo (the landlord, baron, nobleman). The samurais were privileged to wear two swords. They cultivated the martial virtues, indifference to pain or death, and loyalty to their lords

The ronins were retainers who were deprived of their place in Japanese feudalism. The daimyo they had served might have died, been exiled, or become so poor that the samurais had to abandon his lord. Ronins became adventurers, farmers, monks, soldiers of fortune.
