In any of AW's pages, you will find at the top a link for logging in and registering
Clicking through the register link takes you to AW's first registration page. You will be required to enter in a valid email address.
NOTE: AW does not provide any emails to third parties and will never make your email public.
After clicking 'submit' an automated email will be sent immediately to the email address you provide containing a link for verification. If you have any problems at this stage,Contact Site Admin.
Creating your new AncientWorlds Persona
After verifying your email, you will have the opportunity to create your Persona. But before you do so, where in the Ancient Worlds do you want to be? Explore the 7 Ancient Cities contained within AW, noting what each one has to offer and what their boards activities are. Which city's history speaks to you the most?
note: here we would link each cities welcome pages, to be added when created
When you have decided, visit the families available in your chosen area. In many of our cities, each name dictates what time period or peoples they are representing.
For instance, in Egypt, the family called Hapshetsut defines that family as living in the intermediate periods of Egypts history. In Babylon, because there are so many peoples and a large timeline, each family name denotes a particular tribe or even religion (such as The Ben Judah Family). In Germania, some families are geared more towards those of Austrian or German descent, while others are for the Viking Era.
Choose carefully, as many times this persona will become your online AW identity for years to come. But remember, that nothing is set in stone, and our City Boards are not so strict that you will not be allowed to define your new Persona on your own terms! These guidelines are just to make your new entrance into the Ancient Worlds cities an easier one.

For your first name, you may wish to do a bit of research into proper names at the time and location of your chosen area. Some of our city boards have a thread created for just this purpose. For instance, Rome has a Roman Names thread. You can choose any name you like, regardless of historical accuracy, but remember that some special charactors do not appear correctly, and site admin cannot change your name for you after you create it. (ie; if you accidently make your first name start with a small case letter, or misspell it)
note: here we would link each cities historical name/descriptive page (already created by Babylon for last names, and rome for names general), to be added when created
Becoming a Novice
When you first join AncientWorlds and create your persona, you will start out as a Dayling. As a dayling, you will be limited to only (?) image space, (?) grams (except to scribes, which are unlimited) and (?) amount of posts. Also, in the AW Comm Panel and in a group that you join you will have a colored star next to it, denoting your current level. This is to help others know your amount of expertise.
Now, as limiting as this is, it is to give you enough ability to understand your new home/persona and explore this site. But it doesn't last long!
When you Log in to this new persona on the next day, you will automatically be promoted to Ancient Worlds Novice.
Being a Novice affords you more grams, more board posts and more image space. However, this level still has restrictions.
As a Novice, you are limited to 5 grams, 1 board post, 1K image space and 2 site currency earned per login day. But this level also is not permanent!
Becoming a Citizen
Every time you log in on a new day, you will notice the amount your cashbox holds with an increase. When you have accumulted enough site cash to equal 2200 Sesterci (site currency) you will automatically be elevated to Citizen status. This amount reflects 30 days of log in. However, each day of the week that you log in is accumulative, meaning 5 for one day, 10 for another, 15 for the next etc. This amount becomes higher depending on the membership level.. ie; Novices earn 2. sesterci(sitecash) per day, Citizens earn 5. stcs, and Patronage earns 10., 20., or 30. stcs depending on the level of paid subscription.
As a Citizen, your limits have once again increased. You now are capable of 10 grams per day, 2 board posts per day, .25mg image space , but are still limited to 1 group membership. All of these can be increased if you Purchase Patronage.
Becoming a Patron
Ancient Worlds is a subscription based site, meaning it's upkeep is supported by paying members. There are three levels of Patronage, Maximum, Optimum and Millenium. Patronage can be purchased at any level of membership, even as a dayling.
You may also purchase patronage for another persona as a gift. Currently patronage can be purchased through PayPal or by sending a check/money order through regular mail. Your personal patronage information including the date it expires on is available from your homesite (???).
