A cross-cultural Wisdom Circle: listening, reading and sharing from the heart in a protected environment.

The circle is a universal symbol for unity and wholeness and the use of a circle as both an organizational structure and a metaphor for a meeting of equals is likely to have been a part of our universal history for as long as fire.

The circle honors the collective wisdom of the group and is present in many cultures all over the time and all over the world. Indigenous people have been sitting around the tribal fire, drumming, singing, playing, dancing, telling stories, praying, solving the problems of everyday life. Celtic mythology tell us about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, who were concerned with the welfare of the whole... On the same way, neighborhood communities, support groups, dialogue groups, civic organizations and churches have used circles to empower their members to make choices and take action.

Here, the mode of communication shifts from listening and talking to reading and writing.
