Welcome to Archaic Kemet, a group dedicated to discussing and researching the beginnings of Egypt's history. Within this group we will be focusing specifically on the Pre and Early Dynastic Periods, from approximately 5,000 BCE to the end of the 2nd Dynasty.

Step in and explore the beginnings of the Egyptian kingship both the individual kingships and the united kingship. Explore the progression of art and architecture from simple pit tombs to elaborate mastabas, and finally to the beginnings of the canon that would be utilized for much of Egypt's history.
