Greetings Visitor.
Our group is dedicated to writing "historically apt" fiction. Our main story is an interactive endeavor called The Legion which is set in 400 AD as the Roman Empire ebbs from Britannia.
We also have a tale set in the reign of King Alfred of England, the storylines of The Rood and the Raven involves romance, adventure, political scheming, Viking raids (with associated plundering and pillaging), migration from the northern lands, and the settlement of the Danelaw. It also explores the war between the Christian church and those who followed the Raven banner to control the minds and hearts of the people. To maintain the goal of "reasonable" historical fiction, we ask that members do some research into history and day to day customs before joining in writing our interactive stories. This is not an alternative history story, thus women do not serve in the army. Both The Legion and The Rood and the Raven are cooperative ventures and therefore they are structured so that people do not accidentally interfere with somebody else's storyline. Thus, all members must clear their characters and storyline before posting. Contact me if you have any questions. We have a "roleplay" location also which is called The Schildhof. The Schildhof is dedicated to unstructured roleplay and anything goes (within the bounds of the Code of Conduct).
