That was unexpected! Thank you to the judges!!

You like me! You really like me!
( * Xtreemli Curius - Apr 23, 2007 - 13:35 )
*L* I am so thrilled to have won an award, especially on the occasion of Rome's birthday. Rome is very dear to my heart. I have gotten disenchanted with this place in the past and stayed away for a while, but I always come back. Thank you, judges, whoever you are.
Senex gives thanks ...
( * Senex Caecilius - Apr 23, 2007 - 13:35 )
I want to congratulate the other winners and all participants in the Roman poetry and prose contest. I enjoyed reading their diverse entries. I also want to thank the organizers and judges for their time and effort in hosting the event.
Congratulations to the winners!
( * ApilIshtar Etana - Apr 23, 2007 - 11:20 )
I have to confess that I haven't yet had a chance to read the entries, but I shall do so now! :D
Congratulations to all those who won!
And a disclaimer....
( * Heraklia Aelius - Apr 23, 2007 - 11:06 )
Livia and I have straightened it out that my entry in this contest was just for fun (I didn't actually sign up for the contest - only posted on the thread). But as you know, in most cases Admin can't win contests, so I really should have put a disclaimer out there officially. Anyway - here it is! Congratulations to the winners!
Congratulations to the Winners!
( * Heraklia Aelius - Apr 23, 2007 - 11:00 )
First place (Laureate) goes to our own Xtreemli Curius; Senex Caecilius wins the BARD award for second place; and Thea Didius wins third prize for her submission. Well done, everyone!
Slight delay in the winners!
( * Heraklia Aelius - Apr 22, 2007 - 14:30 )
Unfortunately, Livia was taken ill last night, and we'll have to wait until she's back up and about before we can award prizes in this contest. Stay tuned!
Rome Specific?
( * Livia Servilius - Apr 10, 2007 - 16:04 )
Yes, at least to a degree. We a celebrating Rome's birthday, after all :)

( * Priscilla Didius - Apr 6, 2007 - 12:23 )
Does the poem have to be Roame specific?
CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND RULES: MOTHER ROME Upon a panorama I awaken. While strolling the night's panoply I thus find before me This Rome, of dust, long settled. Alone I kneel, shaken. The Forum beneath me...stable, sure Unfallen. The aroma of Tiber and marble The promise of Augustan footprints Silence my fears. I kneel before Thee, Mother Rome. Returned I am to your breast. Give me again your heartbeat. Wrench time back from yesterday! Give me one whisper of your splendor. Make me one with Thy blood.. I, too, am Rome, you are my breath. The stage so empty, so decorated. My feet do not move. I am as one transfixed. Your Vestal fires burn in me, The Lares you offer are my gods. Great Roma! Dominia Dulcis! I miss Thee as an orphaned child Longs for the arms of her mother. Enfold your daughter, Ancient Matrona! Give to me once more your splendored peace. copyright Livia Servilius 2007 Rome has brought many writers to pen and paper over the centuries. Through poetry, stage, and screen, poetry both ancient and modern, Rome still lives in the hearts and minds of millions. You may enter up to 5 entries in this contest, poetry or prose, serious or amusing. Writing must not in any way be pornographic or purposly vile. SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES here.
