Whoa, this one was TOUGH. Some extremely good decorators were at work (Rome's been scarfed of all holly, greenery, candles, bows, etc. it appears). I'm personally blaming it on all the partying and eating and festivities but I think Heraklia is probably just blaming my infernal natural laziness. LOL Anyhoo, my votes have finally been submitted.

Oh, it IS fun to visit the decorated domus - domuses - I've been told the plural is "domus" but it just doesn't SOUND right. The last day to have your domus ready to rock 'n roll is December 21, so if you haven't told us your URL, you're outta the contest. Thanks for all those who did such pretty work!

just as Titus, Desdemona and Livia... judges please let our domus be visited towards the end if your tour? I'm still wainting for some shipments and, being in Italia you all know how long that takes!

Things are still a bit messy now: I have been chosen to be Lord of Misrule this year and my co-lord and I are wrecking eachother's places, LOL. Next to this, Eirene is at the verge of having her first contractions starting...a judging after the weekend of the 16th and 17th of December will be fine, though!

I would greatly appreciate it if the judges could "swing by" my humble property as close to the end of the judging cycle as possible.

CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND RULES: From now until the climax of Saturnalia on December 23, Domus Depot is happily sponsoring a contest to mix decorating for the holidays with our newest Roman 'hoods. The contest, and prizes, are open to anyone living in a Roman 'hood anywhere in the vast reaches of the Empire. If you've bought a palace or a simple domus in any part of Rome, sign up for gold, glory, and nifty plaques (like you needed more?) Share the holiday spirit and build a 'hood at the same time! (and of course, go to Domus Depot for all your holiday decorating needs!) Many thanks to Damon Harmodias for his beautiful winner plaques. RULES: 1. Any citizen is eligible as long as their nominated residence is in a 'hood of Rome, anywhere in Rome's 56 provinces. 2. A committee of two demis, the Roman scribes, and 2 other Roman volunteers will view all the nominations and pick 6 winners (1 first prize; 3 second prizes; 2 third prizes) based on the following criteria of quality: a. Is it gorgeous? b. Is it seasonal (i.e., Saturnalia)? c. Does it teach us something about ancient Saturnalia, Rome, the 'hood it's in, or something else neat? d.
