The traditional celebration of Labor Day (September 5, 2005) at AncientWorlds.
Please check team standings!
( * Heraklia Aelius - Sep 4, 2005 - 18:00 )
Here is my post with contestants thus far and the one KNOWN team captain, for Hellas. It's important you get together and choose a speaker or team captain to post for your team. Also, you CAN play for another "world" if you want to - any Romans willing to be imperial, just check with the other team and then let us know. And may the best world win!
Forming Celtia's Team
( * Flidais Niafer - Aug 31, 2005 - 21:07 )
Brochdyn, I'll join you and see if we can get some more Celts on board to win this contest! :)
Team Hellas
( * Anna Hippon - Aug 31, 2005 - 17:09 )
Ioannis and I are forming a team from Hellas. We'd love a couple more memebers to join us! :)
Teams work better!
( * Heraklia Aelius - Aug 28, 2005 - 22:38 )
Think about this. If two heads are better than one, then IV are far better than II. We encourage teams not only because it is tons of fun, but because everyone has a better chance! So see who else is interested and get in touch ;)
Representing Egypt
( * Hilarity Hatshepsut - Aug 28, 2005 - 22:33 )
I'm hoping member's of Kemet or Weird Egypt will join me, but, if not, I'm here to represent. *Bite's fingernails and hopes for the best, lol*
hey im looking for a team
( * Brochdyn Brigantes - Aug 28, 2005 - 22:27 )
hey im looking for A team to do this trivia thing with preferably Celtic
Im not sure...
( * Caius Julius Caesar - Aug 28, 2005 - 00:32 )
I thought we had to have teams? No? Well, how about this: if Publius Scipio is on the side of Rome, I will join as Rome. If he opts out and goes for the individual title, well, I suppose it is up to me to keep him in his place. Not that I can, mind you. He defeats me at trivia regularly. But, as a Roman, 'tis my duty. So, Pub, what is it, then? The man or Rome? Rome or the man? Shall we be co-Consuls or sworn enemies? LOL. What would it be without drama? Like I said, however, if he goes solo Im toast...
IV Romans and I Greek!
( * Heraklia Aelius - Aug 26, 2005 - 15:17 )
Ahhh, I see teams are beginning to evolve. Please note here whether you are playing individually, or playing for a world team!
Real-Time Contest!
( * Heraklia Aelius - Aug 24, 2005 - 13:26 )
Yes, the Site Trivia Contests always work real time (and I should not, 1 hour for 20 questions: well, it will probably be more like 1 1/2).
Each question is posted, and the teams/contestants have 5 minutes to post their answers. After 5 minutes, the next question is posted. Basically, whoever gets there fustest with the mostest (the right answer) wins the point!
Real-time?
( * Edmund Folcwalding - Aug 23, 2005 - 14:41 )
From the dates/times, it looks like the contest is an hour long, which leads me to believe that it's very much real-time. (stupid question, I know, but I wanted to make sure) *S*
CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND RULES: The long, lazy summer is coming to a close, fall is on the horizon, and it's time to get your teams together for the Site-Wide Labor Day Trivia Contest! This will be the third year for this Battle of the Minds. Sign up for prizes, honor and glory! There will be TWENTY questions on the Theme "Harvest in the Ancient World." We seek at least one representative or team for each of AW's EIGHT worlds (please sign up on the Site-Wide Trivia Thread, tell us your team members, elect a team captain, and tell us what group or world you're playing for). Prior to the Contest, one team leader for each team must notify the Referees (Cornellia Cornelius and Heraklia Aelius) and ONLY that person is permitted to post the answers to the multiple-choice questions that will be asked. The team with the greatest number of correct answers wins the First-Place Trophy - with Second and Third Place Awards as well. The Defending Champion from our Springfest contest is Publius Fabius Scipio, who won the palm for Rome! To the victors go the spoils! |
