Thessalia or Thessaly is a large inland basin surrounded by mountains: Ossa, Pelion, Pindos, and above all, Olympus. It was home to Achilles, Jason, and the centaurs. The cities of Thessalia were ruled by kings and its people were often considered to be more than a little wild and almost barbaric by the rest of Hellas. Our Thessalia is currently divided into three cities: Crannon, Larisa, and Pherai.

Crannon

Crannon is in northern Thessalia. The city was long an ally of Athens, supporting the Athenians during the Peloponnesian Wars. After the death of Alexander the Great, Crannon was the site of a battle between forces under the leadership of Athens seeking to end Macedonian dominance in Greece. The Macedonians under Antipater defeated the Hellenic forces, ensuring continued Macedonian supremacy. As yet, there are no ditricts and homes cannot be built here.

Larisa

Larisa was famous for its horses. Although a rival of Crannon, Larisa was also an ally of Athens during the Peloponnesian Wars. As yet, there are no ditricts and homes cannot be built here.

Mt. Olympos

Mt. Olympos is the highest mountain in Thessaly. It was the home to the most important gods of the Greek pantheon. Our Olympos was built in a hurry for GoldFest 2007 and is still in need of a few improvements.

The Eponymous Gods

The district of The Eponymous Gods is the home to the Stone Story, the grand adventure of demigoddess Cornellia Cornelius during the GoldFest. You can also vist the GoldFest 2007 wrap party.

Demigoddess Heraklia Aelius keeps her infinite wine cellar here in The Cosmic Nectarium. This is the place to put in a special request for your next party.

Pherai

According to legend, Pherai was founded by Admetos, who took part in the hunt for the Calydonian Boar and the voyage of the Argonauts. Pherai was an important town all through the later Bronze Age and in the Classical era was the site of an important sanctuary to Artemis Enodia. Perhaps the most famous inhabitant of the city was Jason of Pherai, who dreamed of gaining the leadership of Greece and invading the Persian Empire. His role as head of the Delphic Amphictyony brought him close to his goal, but he was assassinated in 370 BC. Pherai has a single district: the Hypereia Spring.

The Hypereia Spring

The district of Hypereia Spring is sadly underdeveloped but there are a couple of small homes here.

Golden Mnesicles has the Home of the Fleece which was built for Goldfest 2006.

Aristogeiton Harmodios has built Giton’s Agros at Iolkos. This is a very new construction and he is still getting it into shape.
