It's Springtime in the Americas, and the Nations have been welcoming the new season in grand style.

featherSPRING! 2007:

During the first week of March, the Americas hosted a Maize Queen pageant, along with a Float Building contest. By popular vote, Ishtar YellowStar was proclaimed Queen of the Maize, and got the opportunity to ride in Chicomecóatl's Float, the winning float designed by Thea Didius. A special award for Most Humorous Float was awarded to Dhanishta Kanishka for her Cyber Caveman Float.

We hope you didn't miss the AW Photo Matching Game which was hosted by the Americas in early March. There were 18 real life photographs of our friends here at AW to match up with their online identities. There were no less than five contestants who guessed them all right - Sak Biyaan ShieldJaguar, Helena Curius, Haytham Saba, MerytMaihes Osorkon and Calpurnia Caesar. Congratulations to all! The rest of you can still play for your own entertainment, if you'll promise not to cheat.

Festival of Fire:

There was a great turnout from all over AW for the Tsalagi Fire Ceremony a celebration of the coming of spring in Kituwah. Between decorating gourds, telling stories, bringing ashes to the ceremonial mound and dancing, not to mention breakfast in The Three Sisters Inn and drinking in the Purple Maize Tavern, a grand time was had by all.
