Meet the new Mesopotamian Scribal Team!
|
Persia (AKA Da Sweetie) Xerxes, was once new to Ancient Worlds, and now is a pro! Don't let the sweet exterior fool you. She can be as wickedly funny as the rest of us. She is very dependable you’re sure to come to love her as much as we do! We are very lucky to have Persia among the Scribal team.
Flavia (AKA Da Sniv) Amytas has been around since Ancient Sites, when we were still called Babylon. She and ApilIshtar did a bit of Role Playing together and they still continue to post in their old roles from time to time. So, if there are any mentions of "Da Quink" (that was ApilIshtar Etana, the Queen of Babylon), "Poils" (the queen’s purloined pearls that Da Sniv swears she didn’t take), or anything else that sounds odd, that’s why. She is a fun-loving, wonderfully funny gal whom we look forward to working with.
ApilIshtar loves Sumerian history, especially the mythology. She too is a friendly and fun-loving gal. If you have a chance to chat with any of the Meso Scribes, please do so! They’re always happy to talk with you!
Da 'Hoods
The Seven Nations is Mesopotamia's "Neighborhood Hub". It is our mission to try and make things more easily navigated through this new 'hood. We have a "How To" board created where people can share links, information, and ideas that will help newcomers (and we old timers as well) with the navigation of the 'hoods, decoration of the home sites and general AW help.
This 'hood is different from the existing ones in that it is a sort of "how to" for the existing 'hoods and AW. It was created with the idea that it can become the center of all our other 'hoods in activity, questions, directions, etc for newbies and oldies alike. Under the current board, called "Mesopotamian How-To", you will find threads already set up for posting information. You can share links here to help guides, groups, or other threads. Also, you can write your own post on "how to" navigate, decorate or communicate. The sky’s the limit with this help desk!
Also, in the future, we'd like to create general historical topics for discussions. Things like, "Mesopotamian Mysteries", "Mesopotamian clothing and foodstuffs", "The many houses of Mesopotamia", etc. These topics could easily become an invaluable resource guide for those who are wanting to know about ancient Mesopotamia, or doing role play, or just have a general interest. If we contain them within one area, then it would be easier (at least that's our hope) for others to find the information for which they are searching.
Another thing that this "hub 'hood" would help with is inter-world exchanges. Currently, if you look to the left of the "Seven Nations" 'hood, you'll find "embassies" instead of the normal "cities". These embassies are like others around our real world. This is another world's home within our land. They would be filled with "Ambassadors", "visitors" or "tourists" from other nations around AW. The Ambassadors would be given the power to create (we admin would have to upload, create or change whatever needed to be done) their home within our world. Also, you could easily just look at a certain embassy to find out what interesting things are going on in that world. The creation of this aspect of the Seven nations is really up to the Ambassadors and their teams. We think it would be great for Ambassadors to build their own teams to help them with their creations.
Ambassadors will be the face of their world for Mesopotamians. If a new to AW (or just new to Mesopotamia) person wants to learn more about, say Hellas, they can go to the Hellas Embassy to learn more! The Ambassadors will decorate their Embassy page with interesting and educational links at their own World as well as be available to answer questions as they come up. We also want Ambassadors to use their page as a resource to get current news and events out to Mesopotamian residents. We have the pleasure to announce the following Ambassadors:
This new 'hood is still in the "baby" stages and we are anxious to have input and help from others. If you'd like to help, please contact Persia or ApilIshtar. Or, you can simply post your ideas and thoughts here. We look forward to hearing from you!
