This is the Germanian Welcome Notice
There is no longer a "Welcome Schedule." We will welcome on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The Germania Welcoming Committee takes great pleasure in introducing you to the wide forests and bright plains of the lands the Southmen call Germania. There is much to see and do here, and lots of friendly people to meet! You will find activities here that will appeal to your individual interests - historical and archeological discussions, research tools, trivia games, as well as role-playing.

This is a question you may be asking about some of the features here at AW. Here are some answers to your questions:
  • The Com Panel
The Com Panel is a pop-up window that is safe to use and important to your navigation and communication at Ancient Worlds. If you have a pop-up blocker enabled on your browser, you will need to allow pop-ups from this site. The Com Panel is one reason to enable it, and grams are another (but we'll talk more about those in a moment). The Com Panel tells you who's online and provides a quick link to the homesites of the people you see listed there. It is divided into categories for easy reference. Should you need help or have questions, look on the com panel, near the top, for the names listed under the category, "Scribes." They are there specifically to answer your questions and you will have unlimitedgrams with any of them.
  • Grams
We use a messaging system that we affectionately call "Grams" here at AW. When you look at the com panel you will see the word, "gram," beside your name and most of the others on the panel. If you would like to send someone a message, simply click "gram" next to the name of the person you'd like to gram, and a message window will appear. Type your message in the box and press send. It's that easy! Again, if you have a problem, you have an unlimited number of grams with a scribe. They are there to help you, so utilize them if you need to. At the top of the com panel, right below your name, there is even an option to turn your grams off -- but don't forget to turn them back on again! *w*

We have a little welcoming gift for you that might come in handy for your visit at the Red Boar Tavern Gift which is the social center of Germania where Germaniacs of every kind gather for a decent horn of mead or ale.

As soon as you have settled in comfortably, please come and visit the Welcome to Germania Board. You will find a welcome posted there for you and we would love for you to introduce yourself and tell us a little about you - like what has brought you here, what you hope to see and experience, and what your interests are.

In case you are still looking for an avatar, you can find a variety to choose from at the Groovy Germanics Avatar Shop, which you can access by clicking on the "Select an Avatar" link in the image gallery of your homesite. More avatars are available at:

Avatar Alley

(Which is located in Hellas, but the avatars are GREAT!)

Again, Welcome to Germania! Should you have further questions, please feel free to click
on one of the names below to leave us a message. We will be glad to help where we can!
