There are obviously hundreds of books you could look at to find out information on the Amarna period, but here's a few I would recommend (in no particular order):

Aldred, Cyril (1968) "Akhenaten" Thames & Hudson

Desroches-Noblecourt, Christiane, (1972), "Tutankhamen" Penguin Books

Tydesley, Joyce (1999), "Nefertiti", Penguin Books

Hornung, Erik (1999), "Akhenaten and the Religion of Light" Cornell University Press

Flinders Petrie, W.M. (1898), "Syria & Egypt from the Tell El Amarna Letters", Methuen & Co

Samson, Julia (1997), "Nefertiti & Cleopatra" Rubicon Press

Bratton, F.G. (1962), "The Heretic Pharaoh", Robert Hale Ltd

There are also a couple of novels by Allen Drury which are quite interesting "A God against the Gods" and "Return to Thebes".

I have an extensive home library on this period, so if anyone would like details of a book about something specific, feel free to leave me a message and I'll see if I can help you find what you're looking for.
