Springfest is in the air! In the concept tried out this year (a world a day), April 27th is the day for the Roman World to have its annual Springfest Party and THIS is the place where it will happen!

The theme of this year's Roman Springfest will be The Foundation of Rome and some of the festival items will be focused on this theme.

There is no time table for our events yet nor a definite place for each event, but this will appear in the Springfest Thread's header in time. So, the events mentioned below are in a random order. What will the Roman World bring to the party?

The Start of the festivities in Rome will be about 11.00 hrs AW Time with a ceremonial opening.

Quiz: A Tour of the Circus Maximus, by Senex Caecilius. This item has been derived from Senex's famous 'Ludi Seniles'.

Quiz: 'The Roman Monarchy Quiz', by Senex Caecilius. Gear up for a quiz focused on the Roman Monarchy and everything that is to know about it!

Guide: 'A Tour of Ancient Rome' by Heraklia Aelius. This guide is about the very very very rudimentary knowledge of the coming about of Rome!

Contest: 'The Roman Article Contest', by Tanaquil Sergius. A jury of experienced (semi-)academic article writers will judge all the historical article entries in this contest. There is no specific theme to write about, but your article has to:

1. deal with ancient Roman history/cultural aspects/archaeology;

2. have a title, some copy right free illustrations if needed to properly illustrate aspects of your article, a bibliography and, if needed (re: source quotation), notes. Don't just copy someone else's thoughts and ideas, but quote them and mention your sources.

Horse Race: 'The Circus Maximus Horse Race' by Heraklia Aelius. Show your skills and race the old Circus track like no other!

Contest: 'The Roman Menu Contest', by Calpurnia Caesar. A specialty for ancient food gourmands...

Scavenger Hunt: 'Catch the King!', by Heraklia Aelius. Search Rome and Italia for that evil last King, Tarquin the Proud - if you can, Rome will be a Republic!

Quiz: 'History of Rome, transition from Kingdom to Republic', by Publius Fabius Scipio. Some new mind crackers provided by one of our Roman Republic Specialists.
