The Upcoming Springfest
Springfest 2005 is coming soon! Come join our discussion on the Festival Discussion Thread. We have a few ideas kicking around regarding the tour concept. Since we have three overall regions in the Americas, we'll make certain that all three are covered. We're scheduled in for April 25th, a Monday. Mangas plans on taking the day off from work (no hunting or fishing that day!) to help coordinate. Either post in the thread, or leave Mangas Cochise a message, or trap him online. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate, to whatever level they have time for, whether in advance, or on the day of the Americas tour.
Hoods News
Keep your eyes on the hoods. We're going to begin establishing threads for discussions on those hoods that are ready for visitors, and several of us are hard at work on finishing up other hoods. Right now, we're getting a running commentary from Gamma Roca on his soon-to-be-finished hood, and in the background CherokeeRose Sequoyah is studiously working on the Iroquois.
ChanChan Tupac has created a great City Builder badge for hood creators to wear with pride. We'll also post this in each neighborhood with the name of the page author. Drop by our hood thread, and kibbitz with us.
Groups News
In Turtle Nations, new member StandswithFists Sequoyah is making herself at home and posting about the Lakota and Dakota.
Blue Star Tupac has been active in Tahuantinsuyu, the Inca and Peruvian group, posting about the quipu measuring system, the Nazca culture and line drawings, the culture at Puno, located by Lake Titicaca.
In Calakmul, Nekhenyheru Aha brings an article about the Mayan calendar to our attention.
In our Historical R&R section, QuintusCinna Cocceius discusses the building of virtual reality chatrooms in the Virtual Archaeology group.
