NORTH Having turned north, the ship sets out with a brisk headwind so the men have to row. It is a lot of hard work and the further you go the windier and colder it gets. The skies cloud over and it looks like sleet coming on. You do not have the luxury of a fire or cooked food on this voyage so you must rug up in woollen lined bear skin cloaks and eat dried meats and fish. But that is alright as you are used to it. Following along the coastline near to the horizon, you pass by a number of villages and towns and can see the smoke rising from their fires. These places are very tempting for a quick lightning fast raid so you talk it over with the men. Half are in agreement to do it and the other's want to rest up for a bit after all that rowing. You know that half of them wont be happy with your decision, but thats just how it is on these types of journeys when youre the leader. So you open up a chest and reach for your runestones and select one of them out of the leather pouch. There are only 3 in the pouch but they are special runes you use when you need guidence from the gods, especially Odin. Holding it up you show the men the one you selected and now your fate has been sealed and they acknowledge the god's decision.
