Nope, wrong song. I wasn't named after my mother.
Okay, let's try again here.
In real life I am a...no, that won't do either. I have a boring RL. No grand credentials, no interesting job, nothing you folks would be entertained by.
So how did I end up here?
I found AS via the now famous ad in Archaeology magazine, and was immediately intrigued by all these people discussing history on the internet. After the demise of AS I wandered here and there, but when the Orient opened at AW, I wanted to become involved again. I knew next to nothing about the Orient and its history, but I'd been meaning to learn more about the region. And besides, I had a couple of empty shelves in my bookcases that were just calling out to be filled with something new and interesting.
I've learned a lot in my several years in the Orient, but there's still so much to explore. I have particularly enjoyed working on the hoods and I hope that during my time as scribe I will be able to help the Orient to continue to grow and prosper.
I live on the US east coast with my five cats. When I'm not hanging around on the computer, I enjoy gardening, needlework, reading and photography.
