Anxious Citizens Await the Return of the Carpenter's Cup!
dateline: Mar 6, 2003 - 10:46
Although rumors have been running rampant about whether or not the beloved Carpenters Cup game will appear here at AW, there has been no official word on the topic from the cybergods. Today, in a candid discussion with Jot, this reporter may have caught a hint of what is to come.
Babylonians have been holding their breath for months now, waiting to hear news about the Cup. We all remember the fun of sneaking into a citizens library, the thrill of seeing the cup, sitting there in all its glory, just waiting to be snatched! If you couldn't find the cup, you could pay a drunken sod money for a clue (who remembers his name??) and you received some scrambled letters to figure out. This reporter has seen Rome's relentless pursuit of the Cup, headed by the Champion Cup Hunter Olodum Flaminius. As he indicated in the Babylon Beat he is just waiting to take up the pursuit again! Here is the response from our Cybergod Jot! "As the new code system continues to roll out, and shows signs of early success in improved page load speed and development speed for the core site features such as Boards, City Pages and Groups, I am turning my eye more towards creating games for AW. Realtime Trivia and Circus Races are just the beginning. And of course, who can forget the the prototypical *artifact hunt* game from the days of AS." Hmm....what is the this "prototypical artifact hunt game" - could he have been speaking of the Cup"? Please post your comments below, we'd love to hear your opinion or story about the cup. by: Leah Enkidu
Bring it on!
AncientWorlds without the Carpenter's Cup is, well, like Rome without Romans! Inconceivable, that is. So let the hunt continue. Can't wait for the day the unweary will sneak into the libraries of the unwary again... Alwyn Caelius, zealous Cup Hunter By the way, the "drunken sod" was called Lucius, if I remember correctly. ~ Alwyn Caelius
